Thanksgiving Turkey anyone can cook!

I don’t get the fuss about cooking a turkey. All you need is an oven of course, a roaster, a few spices and maybe a baster.

Easy peasy! Then you can make turkey sandwhiches, turkey soup, turkey salad…you get it. A ton of delish leftovers!

  1. Place the turkey in the roaster, breast side up. Make sure you have removed the bag of gizzards as well as the neck. Fry up the gizzards after if consuming. Keep the neck out to the side and cook in the roaster.
  2. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey.
  3. Pour the Soy sauce all over turkey.
  4. Make little cuts throughout the skin, and insert the garlic cloves and sliced onions throughout, including under the wings.
  5. Rub the spices all over the bird.
  6. Fill roaster with water and bake for 5-6 hours at 200-300F (low temp, longer time means no dry turkey!)
  7. Baste every 2 hours. If you don't have a baster, a ladle will do if you can fit it in there! (Take liquid from the juices and pour all over the turkey)
  8. Cut, and serve! Don't forget to make a wish with the wishbone!
